Aluminium Windows vs Steel Window Frames

A common question we get is whether steel is actually more secure, since the frame itself feels heavier and harder to bend. In practice, the security of a window comes down to the glass and the locking mechanism, not the frame material. If security is your main concern, burglar bars work the same way on either frame type, and since neither steel nor aluminium windows come with burglar bars included, you'd be sourcing them separately either way.

Steel does win on upfront price, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we see with clients over several years is that the rust and repainting steel eventually needs tends to close that price gap, sometimes more than close it, while an aluminium frame just carries on looking the way it did on day one.

Hinged on one side and swings open like a door, giving the widest full open gap of the four styles. Good for rooms that need maximum airflow, such as lounges and offices. Priced above.

Sliding
